Colomers

This moku Hanga print is a new milestone of the series
"Along the Atlantic/Mediterranean watershed"

Inspired by this sketch,  it is constituted of four plywood blocks hand printed with a renovated baren (see previous post) on Awagami Shiramine paper.
The four blocks are carved in two basswood plywood
Wood panels for woodblock printing are difficult to find in France.

First block is a rocky brown-grey gradient
I try to use the Maru Bake strokes as atmospherical effects
The second block : another gradient from a light yellow green at the background to the darker grass green of the foreground

The print at the second step
The Third block is a 4 colors block : sky and water, pine green,  yellow ocher house and bright red barrels
The print at the third step.
The fourth and last block is more complex than it seems.
The final print scanned. In reality the colors are less bright.
