Saint Antonin Noble-Val

 Saint Antonin Noble-Val is a remarkable medieval village with a very pleasant atmosphere located 1h north to Toulouse in the Aveyron river gorges. Nicole Scotto, a fellow sketcher and friend suggest me to organise there a Urban Sketchers meetup during the summer.

Despite the global sanitary situation and lockdown, we were able to maintain the event. This USk meetup was following many cancellation, so that we attracted distant talented sketchers like Joaquin from Madrid or Jean-Paul from Paris (78).

 On Saturday August first, from 9am, 80 sketchers were welcomed by the local volunteers and received a cup of coffee with croissants, and the usual memorial badge. Every body was so impatient to start that we spread all over the city in minutes.

 We had planned two intermediate meetings during the day to allow participants to meet up with each other. This small city is so full of richly ornamented old houses, so many small winding streets leading to secret squares, that we couldn't run out of inspiration.

At the end of the day, everybody converged on the town hall where tables were set up to collect the drawings of the day. We shared a drink offered by the cultural association hosting our meeting and took a group photographe.

That was a bit sad to leave all these happy people after only one day. Let's hope that we will able to gather some more people next time and stay longer.

Stages Randocroquis Workshops 2016

Le calendrier des stages que je vais encadrer en 2016 est consultable sur le site de Randocroquis. Il y a quelques nouveautés cette année comme un stage aux pieds des Pyrénées et un week-end à Berne (Suisse) charmante ville classée au patrimoine mondial de l'Unesco. The Randocroquis watercolor and sketch workshops That I will lead for the year 2016 are already planned. According to the format you are looking for ( a single day, a week-end or a week) and the place you prefer to visit (city centre, countryside or mountains) you can book your place on the web site or ask any question to the organisation.

Les stages s'adressent à tous, sans exigence de niveau. Les participants devront trouver à se loger par eux-mêmes. Le tarif ne comprend que l'encadrement, des frais supplémentaires de transport urbain ou d'entrée de musée sont à prévoir. Pour le stage d'une semaine à Rocamadour, vous profitez d'un tarif très préférentiel à l'hôtel des Esclargies ***.

All workshops are open to any level.
Participants must find a hosting by their themselves. The price only includes the activity cost, but not the eventual transportation or museum entrance fees. For the 5 days workshop in Rocamadour you can be hosted in the very comfortable *** hôtel des Esclargies for a very attractive rate.

Le stage Randocroquis® d'initiation / perfectionnement au croquis à l'aquarelle s'est tenu du 27 septembre au 2 octobre à Rocamadour. Il aura permis à un petit groupe venu des 4 coins de la francophonie de progresser sur les chemins capricieux de l'aquarelle dans une ambiance aussi studieuse que détendue.

The Randocroquis® watercolor workshop, initiation or improvement to watercolor sketching, take place every year in Rocamadour. Even if the Randocroquis website is exclusively written in french, if you intend to participate to a workshop, just send me an email.

Randocroquis à Rocamadour

Le stage Randocroquis® que je propose chaque année à Rocamadour vient de s'achever.

Every year, at the end of september, I plan a Randocroquis® watercolor sketching workshop in a very comfortable hotel in Rocamadour (France). 

Lors de cette semaine, retirés dans le très confortable hôtel*** des Esclargies, nous faisons une initiation complète au croquis à l'aquarelle.

During a five days week, we follow a full initiation to the watercolor sketching and avoid to color one's drawings like children coloring books. 

Pour ne plus colorier nos croquis à l'aquarelle nous procédons à un passage en revue de tous les aspects utiles à cette pratique : le dessin d'architecture et des personnages,

les contraintes de l'aquarelle, les mélanges de couleurs,

the constraints of watercolor painting, mixing colors,

le travail des valeurs,

Les débutants sont les bienvenus. Pour preuve, lors de cette dernière session, la plupart des participants débutaient totalement et leur résultats ont été des plus encourageants.

Beginners are welcome, really. In the past workshop most of the trainees didn't know anything about watercolor sketching at the first day.

Les prochaines dates de stages seront bientôt communiquées sur le site Randocroquis®. Des destinations nouvelles pourraient ainsi faire leur apparition.

However they achieved very well. The next dates will be soon announced on the Randocroquis® website. Some new destinations may appear.
