PittaNaro

I had the immense privilege and the great pleasure to have been invited in Sicily at the end of August by Cendrine Bonami-Redler and Murielle Arcuri to attend to the event they organised called PittaNaro.

Ten Italian and French sketchers have been gathered for their various styles to come to the city of Naro, in the province of Agrigento, to draw its wonderful Baroque heritage.

After having followed a guided tour of the city we were free to go all over the city to lay on paper our feeling regarding the old streets and the numerous ochre churches and their huge richly ornate facades.

However this outstanding ensemble of Baroque churches has not been preserved so well over the years one can just fall under the charm of the grimacing figures of these old yellow sandstones.

To liven up this week, we had a day at the sea and another at the Greek temples of Agrigento.
